John Carter

John Carter is an American author of historical fiction, best known for his novel, "The Warlord Chronicles." Carter was born in New York City and raised in the Bronx. He attended the High School of Music & Art, where he developed a love for writing. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.

After his discharge from the Army, Carter attended college on the GI Bill, earning a degree in English. He then worked as a technical writer for a defense contractor. In his spare time, he began writing fiction, drawing on his experience in the military.

Carter's first novel, "The Warlord Chronicles," was published in 1981. The novel was an instant success, and was followed by two sequels, "The Emperor of Rome" and "The Conqueror." Carter has since written several other novels, including "The Last Legion," "The Eagle of the Ninth," and "The Sword of the Franks."

Carter currently lives in Virginia with his wife and two children.
